What to expect in the 2021 Iowa Cubs home opener

When you enter Principal Park, you will notice that you can only use a credit or debit card. No cash will be accepted this year.

DES MOINES, Iowa – The opening day for the Iowa Cubs is less than 24 hours. But there are a few things to know before heading to the ballpark.

Let’s talk about tickets first.

The best way to buy tickets to an Iowa Cubs game is online.

Seating is limited in each game, so buying in advance is the best choice. If you buy a ticket online, all you need to do is use your phone to be scanned upon arrival.

When you enter Principal Park, you will notice that you can only use a credit or debit card. No cash will be accepted this year.

If you only have cash, you can use a reverse ATM inside the park to get a prepaid debit card.

As with everything these days, the pandemic is impacting policies such as seating and headgear.

At Principal Park, you must wear a mask at all times, except when eating or drinking.

The seats are evenly spaced in the park.

Outside of the stadium, you are also expected to maintain social distancing when entering and returning from the parking lots.

Many of these new rules are enforced by Major League Baseball and must be followed in all parks, both majors and minors.
