It was that day eight years ago when Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar donned the Mumbai Indians jersey for the last time. Interestingly, this match was also Rahul Dravid’s last appearance for the Rajasthan Royals.
Under Rohit Sharma, Tendulkar played in the T20 Champions League final against the Rajasthan Royals. Tendulkar has bowed out as the Mumbai Indians won the title after beating the Royals by 33 points in the summit clash.
Beating first, the Mumbai Indians posted a total of 202/6 in the twenty overs allowed and it was Dwayne Smith who scored the best for the team after playing a 44-point shot.
Tendulkar only managed to score 15 while Glenn Maxwell scored a quick shot of 37 on just 14 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes.
Rajasthan Royals were unable to pursue the target and the team were regrouped for 169. For Mumbai, Harbhajan Singh returned with four wickets and he was named man of the match.
Tendulkar is currently the Mumbai Indians mentor while Dravid heads the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Dravid had also coached the Indian team for the series against Sri Lanka earlier this year.
