There isn’t one with a ‘Carey Price’ name stamped on them – at least not yet – but the Kraken plan to unveil the team’s jerseys at home and away as the expansion draft from. Wednesday’s NHL is underway.
The team posted a photo of the jersey in its dark colors on Monday. He also revealed that the newly-selected Kraken players on Wednesday will indeed wear both versions of the Adidas sweater – or jersey, in non-hockey parlance – when their names are called out.
Kraken CEO Tod Leiweke said last month that the team was working fervently to overcome logistical challenges related to COVID-19 so that at least some sweaters are ready for players to wear. The manufacturing process took place overseas, so shipping delays were a factor.
But the Kraken now have those sweaters and plan to put more on public sale on September 15 at team outlets at the Kraken Community Iceplex Training Center, Chandler’s Cove and Bellevue Square Mall.
Additionally, the team is planning a membership program in August – details of which have yet to be announced – that will open up presale opportunities for fans.
It remains to be seen whether any of them will eventually be named after Montreal Canadiens star goalie Price – the former Tri-City Americans goaltender who was exposed to the Kraken for the draft.
