Suns cheer on Pelicans fans wearing ‘F*** Jae Crowder’ shirts originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
When you face an opponent multiple times in a row, things are bound to heat up.
This happened during the first-round series between the No. 1 Phoenix Suns and the No. 8 New Orleans Pelicans in the 2022 NBA playoffs.
Both teams have brave and defensive players who battle it out, but Suns forward Jae Crowder has developed a reputation for getting into the heads of players and fans alike over his 10-year career.
That’s exactly what Crowder did in Game 4 in New Orleans, when Pelicans fans started chanting “F*** Jae Crowder” in a 118-103 win inside the Smoothie. King Center.
After Phoenix won Game 5, some Pelicans fans took that chant one step further in Game 6, wearing red shirts that had the phrase printed on them:
Safe to say the move backfired.
Facing elimination with a loss, Pelicans couldn’t keep pace with Chris Paul historic shooting performance as Crowder and the Suns advanced to the second round.
At Crowder’s post-match press conference, he and Devin Booker put on the jerseys and had the final say:
The Suns are now waiting for the winner between the Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz as the Pelicans prepare for the 2022 offseason.
