The Detroit Lions have a quarterback in Jared Goff who has embraced his new environment in a major way, and that has continued as his swirling summer after a major offseason trade continues.
Soon Goff will be starting Lions training camp, but before he does and gets ready to take care of the current business, there is still time to have some more fun in the summer. Goff was spotted at the Tigers game and received full praise for being the starting quarterback spotted at such an event.

Here’s a look at the Tigers giving Goff his scream, as well as his Detroit-themed jersey:
Goff even met Tigers top pitcher Casey Mize and presented him with an autographed jersey that read “Welcome to Town”.
It’s just another show that Goff understands his new surroundings and is excited to embrace him in his new town. As the offseason collaborations go on, it’s a pretty good collaboration for the Tigers and Lions.
Tigers and lions have mingled in the games lately
It’s not just Goff getting the royal treatment from the Tigers lately. Other players did it again last weekend, which it did as the Tigers threw a big party for their fans. They invited players from other Detroit teams to join in the fun, and the Lions’ representatives were punter Jack Fox as well as defensive lineman Romeo Okwara.
Here’s a look at the duo mingling on the pitch while once again swapping jerseys with young Tigers stars in pitcher Tarek Skubal and Mize.
Obviously, the Lions were very happy to loan their players for the event, and they even took the time to wish the Tigers good luck for the second half of the season following the event.
Overall it was great to see the Tigers bring some of their young guns to connect with some of the Lions young guns. This stuff helps galvanize the sports scene in a city, and it’s cool to see Goff getting involved too.
Tigers play well to start MLB second half
If the team asks the Lions players to come back in the future, it will be with good reason. The Tigers managed to win with all of the Lions players in attendance this week and had a strong start to the second half of the season with a streak sweep from the struggling Minnesota Twins with another strong performance this week against the Texas Rangers. So far this season, the Tigers have struggled for a record that is well under the .500 mark, but the team appears to have some exciting young talent in the pipeline that could give hope for the future. In the second half of the season, that’s what people should be watching out for in the Tigers. They might not win every game, but they do battle. It’s not unlike the same spirit the Lions wish they had for 2021 and beyond when they step onto the pitch for a new season.
Goff hopes to bottle that same spirit and build on it for the 2021 season.
