The Tampa Bay Buccaneers wear familiar threads as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card Round. The Bucs have released a video revealing that the team will don their white jerseys with tin pants as they take on the Eagles.
Buccaneers fans know this look because it’s the same uniform jumpsuit the team wore in their Super Bowl win over the Chiefs. As The Athletic’s Greg Auman pointed out, the Bucs also have a solid history against the Eagles in the same uniforms.
“That’s it: white jerseys and pewter pants for the Bucs on Sunday” Auman tweeted January 13. “Worked well in the playoffs against the Eagles before…”
Here’s a look at the big uniform reveal that’s got Bucs fans buzzing.

Fournette and David are game decisions
All eyes have been on the injury designations of star running back Leonard Fournette and linebacker Lavonte David heading into the team’s showdown with the Eagles. Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said both players will make decisions at game time. Arians noted that linebacker Shaq Barrett and passing thrower Jason Pierre-Paul are on track to play against the Eagles.
“I feel pretty good with Shaq [Barrett], JPP [Jason Pierre-Paul]“, explained Arians during his press conference on January 14. “Lavone [David] will be the most debatable with Lenny [Fournette].”
Brady on Eagles Defense: “They win you everything”
The Buccaneers are more than a touchdown favorite over the Eagles, but Tom Brady has detailed all the reasons the team doesn’t take their opponent lightly. Brady noted that the Eagles’ defense “wins you everything.”
“Talented players in every position,” Brady said during his Jan. 13 press conference. “They are a very good defense – they make you win everything. You make a mistake, you get a penalty – you’re going to punt. The ball is kicked in the air, they will intercept it. You hold the ball too long, they’ll strip it.
“They’re a team that don’t let you down, and I think they do a good job with their covers, they cover up enough. They all cover each other. There’s really good communication – I I can tell. Really well trained defense with a lot of good players. It makes it really difficult for the attack to score.
The Bucs will wear their Creamsicle uniforms ‘at some point in the future’
Arians didn’t go into detail about the post-season uniform selection process. The Bucs coach noted that it was “largely” a management decision.
“Asked who makes the decision on what uniform combo the Bucs wear on any given day, Arians says it’s ‘pretty much management,'” he added. Auman tweeted on January 14.
Bucs fans continue to clamor for the team to wear their cream throwback uniforms. A recent tweak to NFL rules will allow teams to wear multiple helmets starting in the 2022 season, opening the door to the Buccaneers’ old-school Bucco Bruce look. Last offseason, Buccaneers co-owner Joel Glazer noted that the team hoped to wear the creamsicle uniforms “at some point in the future.”
“On throwbacks, we’re constantly on the doorstep of the league trying to get them moving so we can carry our throwbacks,” Glazer explained in March 2021, per USA Today. “We are not there yet. But there are ongoing discussions and hopefully that will happen at some point in the future. I know how popular they are with our fans.
