Auburn welcomes UAB to start homestand

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn starts a family of four this week by hosting UAB at Plainsman Park on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT.

The game can be heard on Auburn Sports Network and will air nationally on SEC Network. Tickets are available for the midweek contest and can be purchased here.

Auburn is coming off his first SEC series victory of the season after winning Georgia’s No. 20’s last two games on Friday and Saturday.

The series victory over the No.20 Bulldogs was Auburn’s first road series victory since winning two of three games at No.7 at Mississippi State in 2017.

Twenty-three of Auburn’s games this season have been decided by two sets less, including the UAB game on March 9. The Tigers are 9-14 in these contests.

The Tigers are third in the SEC and seventh in the country with 62 homers.

Ryan dyal became the 12th homerun player this season with a solo shot against Georgia on Friday, scoring the most homerun players in a season since 2010 (15).

Jack Sokol is expected to make his second start and third appearance on Tuesday. The first-year right-hander claimed the scoreless 4.0 innings victory over Alabama A&M on February 24.

Tyler miller drove the top 51 races in 40 games in a league, scoring the most by an Auburn in 40 games since SEC Player of the Year Hunter Morris in 2010 (52).

Miller’s 51 RBIs are already tied for sixth by an Auburn player since 2011.

UAB enter the week with an overall record of 15-30 and an 8-16 at the American conference after a four-game separate streak against UTSA in Birmingham.

The Blazers reach .247 as a team and are led by Chandler Simpson’s .317 clip. The team is a threat on the base trails with 58 bases stolen this year.

On the mound, UAB turned into a 6.08 personal ERA. Starting pitcher Jonah Smith is set to make his first start of the season and second of his career on Tuesday.

The doors open one hour before the first launch.

In accordance with current state of COVID-19 health guidelines, Plainsman Park’s capacity will be reduced during Auburn’s 2021 baseball season.

Fans are now allowed to enter through the tiger terrace gates and onto the straight pitch line.

Spectators are required to wear face masks when entering and exiting Plainsman Park and in public areas, such as lobbies, washrooms, and concession lines, and are encouraged to wear them when seated.

All transactions for concessions and merchandise locations at Plainsman Park will be contactless and cashless (credit / debit and Tiger cards only).

Improved cleaning and disinfection procedures throughout the park before and during all games will be in effect for the 2021 season.
